Intro
We've all been there. Brand new to the game and we have more questions than answers. We don't really know where to turn to get the info we need. Hopefully, this will be a helpful resource for those of you who are still learning your way around the world of Norrath.
The Lord Helps Those Who Help Themselves
Lets face it. Any question you have, we've answered a million times. And often, those answers are easily found in the right places. You just need to know where those places are.
EQ2 Wikia
Learn it. This is your best friend in this game. It has most information about EQ2 including Quest walkthroughs, class/race information, everything. If you have a question about the mechanics of the game, this should be your first stop.
EQ2 Flames
If you ever wonder about how to spec your character, what's best for your class, or what's new in the world of EQ2, this is a great place for you to frequent. Be warned, this site is full of veteran players, who view the game quite differently than the casual player. if you can look past the vulgarity and attitude of the posters, it is a very helpful site.
A few other helpful sites you may want to check out include:

Some Etiquette for You
Ten Ton Hammer, a gaming site with emphasis on EQ2, posted a wonderful list of EQ2 Etiquette. I'll highlight a few key points, but the full article can be found here.
Try before you ask!
The most common questions in the lower level adventuring zones can usually be solved by reading the manual, flipping through EQ2 forums, hanging out at websites like eq2.tentonhammer.com :) or just plain old trial and error. If you come up with something, great! If not, anyone you ask (that might know) is more likely to share what they know if you seem capable and receptive (and show a fundamental respect for their time, it's likely that you're not the only person hanging from their coattails, so to speak).
Begging is THE fastest way to get onto an ignore list
That, and it's really lame. Everyone has an opportunity to go out, kill mobs, sell stuff, and make some money, so why would you think you deserve a little something of someone else's hard-earned stash. Be grateful when someone offers you something, offer stuff you don't need to others, and chances are you'll come out ahead! (Thanks Jimbob of Oggok!)
**Kai's Note: In this guild, excessive begging warrants removal from guild. There are plenty of people willing to help with crafting, questing, or other lucrative opportunities, you don't need to beg for coin.
Know your role!
Nothing is more frustrating than an off-tank that won't stop taunting, a mage that nukes mezzed mobs, or two groupmates pulling different mobs at once. Actively learn your function within the group and save any risky, aggressive tactics for when you only have your own debt to build!
These are just a few things we see most often. A longer list of beginner guides can be found Here
Conclusion
Remember, we veterans of this game are always willing to help. However, we expect you to learn how to help yourself as well. When all else fails, you can always ask us. However, our ability to help you often falls along the same rules as being able to craft for you. We are happy to help, though not necessarily immediately. Have respect for our time and we'll have respect for you. Best of Luck in EQ2.
